The use of earthworms to transform vegetable waste into a 100 percent natural plant fertilizer is known as vermicomposting. Vermicompost is a liquid organic fertilizer that looks like honey and is produced by earthworms as part of their composting process or independently.
Earthworms consume their food by tunneling into the soil. Microorganisms live in these tubes. The water that passes through this tunnel extracts nutrients in soluble form, which plants readily absorb. It contains a variety of nutrients, hormones such as cytokinin and oxytocin, vitamins, amino acids, enzymes, and beneficial microbes such as bacteria, fungus, and actinomycetes (which fix nitrogen and phosphates), among other things. It contains all of the nutrients in a soluble form that is readily available to the plants.
